Question intakes

i have heard that a cold air intake with durable plastic disperses heat better than a chrome intake.is this true and if so does that mean the plastic is a better intake to buy?

more accurately, plastic doesn't conduct heat well. So, it serves as an insulator between a hot engine compartment (complete with heat radiating off of the engine) and the air moving through the intake pipe.
