Don't think the word is out yet, but I just heard from a friend that talked to Todd today. Seems they worked out a deal with the county to lease the property for 2 more years and theres a chance to renew the lease for ANOTHER 2 years after that.

Guess the county has plans for the land but work isn't going to start on it for well into the future.

 

yup, but by then who knows, there could be a strip in Tampa

 

Everytime I drive down to BMP I see buildings popping up left and right. Hopefully all the crops and the state park near the track will be enough to keep all the new development from coming near the track.

but i hear ya about BMP, that would suck to have to go to orlando just to use a track

 

There is quite a bit of land around by the track that would have to be bought up at a premium.. BMP just needs to be smart about it and make sure they stay up with the local govt. I hope it won't happen any time soon, and if there was an attempt at it I would hope that the track would organize and fight it...I know I'd be right there..

 

funny how they stiffen the street racing penaltys and then decide to take away the tracks... lol
