Default Have A question on this Gauge pod

Im just confirming that this sits on the dash above the ac vents, Correct? If so, this is what i need, but just have to find a way not to have to drill into my beaufiful dash!

Thanks

Yeah, that's what that is. It sits on the little ledge above the vents....but you still have to screw it down. Personally, if I were you and didn't want to mess up the dash, I'd get a gauge cage and stick i'em in the center AC vents. The only advantage to the bigger one there is that you can stick a big ol' honkin' tach in there. But, big ol honkin' tachs are just for looks anyway. Put a little autometer shift light in there and just use the factor tach to let you know that the flash is coming up. The flash will let you know that it's time...and you don't even have to be looking at it. Big tach/tits/boar hog comes to mind.

ok, humor me. With the gauge cage, How good of flow does the A/C still have? Thats more of a concern than gauges right now but if it still cools down nicely, then ill concider it

It's obviously going to cut down on flow, but you've still got the outside vents If you've got a good dash, I wouldn't drill into it personally.

What about just the a-pillar setup? Mine looked great in the SVO, particularly after it was painted to match the rest of the interior (dark grey). Sure it may be considered "ricey" to some, but you don't destroy a dash and never have to worry about cutting down on the airflow from the A/C vents.

As Dave said, go with a shift light instead of a monster tach. Every stock Mustang tach I've ever seen was not that far off from the 5" tach sitting beside it. You could also look into completely replacing all the stock gauges with aftermarket units if you are bent on getting an aftermarket tach, yet don't want that 5" unit sitting on your dash.
