headers on 96 cobra

Exclamation headers on 96 cobra

i own a 96 cobra and want to put new headers on it. right now i have stock headers on with my flowmast x-pipe exhaust. i was told i should get long headers but i was wondering if i do that will i have to mess with my exhaust at all?any opinions?

LT headers make nice HP #'s on the cobra's . They are just a pain in the ass to install . You can go with a shorty header and still see nice gains and keep your current set up . And like Mars_302 said if you get LT's you will need a new mid pipe to match up .

Oh , and one other thing . Once LT's are installed you wont be able to remove your tranny without taking off the headers . Just something to think about!

Get the midlengths. Basically all the gain of the LT's with the ability to swap a clutch or tranny without pulling a header.

these guys don't know what they are talking about. but if decide 2 get long tubes get "hookers" you can pull the tranny out with those long tubes, It's tight but can be done. But it will most likely not be worht your time or $ 2 get longtubes since you already have everything else.

+1 for matt. i got Mac LT's and the headers have to come out on just about everything.

Ive got BBK long tubes and h-pipe on mine. The passenger side header has to come off to get the tranny out aswell.

I am taking the whole exhaust off my 98 long tubes 3" Hpipe 3" flow masters turn downs if you want to work out cash and your factory pipes let me know

so it sounds like mid lengths are the way to go.thx for all the responses.one more thing any opinions on new cams?(96 for cobra)
