With yours yes. The 5speed computer will compensate when there isn't load on the motor from the transmission and adjust idle. Your's isn't doing it. I've heard of people not swapping and being fine and I've heard of people with your case as well.

Get in touch with Sam @ Coastal. I'm sure he'll be able to help you figure out what you can do. I'm just not real sure seeing as your swap isn't a very common one.

Besides a CEL the Escort PCM don't give a shit what's under there it seems . I've had 3 different types of transmission in there and it acted the same regardless, less the CEL for shift solenoids

Nick.
It could be a couple of things,if the IAC is dirty or old they sometimes get lazy and don't or can't stabilize the idle after a WOT condition in open loop.At the time your swap was done we didn't have capability of editing the binary at all to adjust for manifold volume or IAC location or even dash pot decay. We now have both Pro-M editing software and Diablo Revolution software so the control is limitless. If you can't figure it out on your own I can make your problems go away.
