Fun Ford Gainesville Pictures (Dial Up Warning)
Once again it rained at this event (Sunday) and created a 2+ hour rain delay. I think they need to seriously reconsider the date and put the event a few months earlier or towards the end of the season because June is just not cutting it.
The car count looked pretty good, however some of the big names were missing in the upper classes.
The track was in great condition as usual and the staff at Gainesville did a great job as usual.

Any race durring the summer months in FL is going to have a higher chance of rain, just the way it is. Also, there was a 20k race up in ShadySide raceway that I think a few of the 10.5 tire cars were at that weren't at the FFW race. Don't think it's possible to move it earlier in the year unless they were to swap with the first Texas race, and then I think there would be some complaints with there being 2 Fla races so close together from the participants. All things being equal, a 2 hour delay wasn't bad on only one day. Last year, Mike was the last guy to make a pass in True Street and did so right before midnight on Saturday...
This year, not so much luck. went a 10.86 on basically 7 cylinders, and then the car wouldn't fire off for his second and third pass... He'll be back up and running at the race on the 25th though..
