Well, sort of. Lamborghini was commissioned to build the Viper V10 but pretty much failed to deliver. Dodge then built it themselves and no doubt used some of what they already knew about the truck motor. They are however, two completely different motors.

Completely different ? How ?
Aluminum block in the Viper vs. iron in the truck and I am sure different cam but I would not call that completely different.

LOL Look, if GM can go around saying their LT1 is completely different than their LS1 or whatever "new" motor they're hyping each year then the Viper V10 is sure as hell different than the old truck V10.
Getting back on track, thumbs to Ford for adding the cubes.

The LT1 and LS1 only share lifters I believe. Everything else, including the bellhousing pattern is different than any other SBC. I don't believe the same can be said for the V10. It shares a hell of alot more in common with a truck than a lambo.
Sort of OT, but didn't GM have an 8.1L engine in one of their Silverados? The biggest listed in their current line up is 6L. Am i retarded, or did it exist?
