Limits of 28 Spline axle
I would think there a little stronger than stock,I was making over 450rwtq and they held up.Had to upgrade for the new setup though.Are you talking about hardened or stock replacment?

i put 500 hp thru the stock 28 spline axles, i heard of people breaking the stock ones at the track with basicly stock cars so i think its hit or miss , i think the diff would be the next weak link when running high power

I think they make hardned 28's,maybe I'm wrong.If they don't and your rear is fine I wouldn't waste the money on 28's,just buy the 31's and get a spool/diff later.

Isnt gonna be a drag car. Gonna be try getting more into road course and stuff, i'll just be rebuilding the stock diff even though its still working great. I plan on boosting it at some point and going for 350 at the wheels, but when I do hit the track with some sticky tires I dotn wanna have to worry

without a dedicated drag suspension, 350hp will never break even a stock axle. I would suggest keeping the stock axles and diff. Many people recommend swapping to the factory 31 spline diff from Exploders, but the bigger diameter of the axles actually takes away from the total clutch area of the disks, so you get more friction with the 28 spline than the 31 spline.
you can 31 spline 8.8s from sploders or rangers with the 4.0, and fx4s.
