So I've been thinking about.....
parting the car.... yeah I know.....the cry's of WTF - you're insane - have you gone mental, etc.. are all echoing through the halls.... Certain people right now are going to hunt me down and try to beat some sense into me, but hey - in the end it's my decision right?
To be honest, I've had a few "personal decisions" lately that are making me think about it, and what's more important right now... So I've been giving it some thought. Part of me knows that I WILL get in trouble in this car whether I'm carefull about it or not, and I'm considering other things that I want to accomplish and take care of. For me to really get it where it needs to be is going to take me spending another grand or so on it, and I really don't have the motivation (even though that BOV sounds BAD ASS!!!! LOL!
For anyone not familiar with the car, the rolling chassis would be:
1991 Mustang GT (85K Miles)
CHASSIS / SUSPENSION:
Richmond Spool
3.73 Ford Gears
Moser 31 spline Axles with 3" studs
Strange C-clip eliminators
10 pt cage by Dragin Motorsports
subframe connectors (Dragin Motorsports)
Single Adjustable Lower Rear Control Arms (Dragin Motorsports)
Double Adjustable upper Rear control Arms (Dragin Motorsports)
Eibach Drag Springs (fronts cut 1 coil) with airbag in rear
Lakewood 90/10 Drag Struts
HAL Tubular K-member
BODY:
Metallic Teal Paint
Black Engine Bay
Cobra Rear Bumper
Kaenan 4" Extended Cowl Hood
LX Tail lights
New Headlights
INTERIOR:
ACC Carpet Kit (Gray)
Grant Wheel
Power Windows / door locks / mirrors / tint
WHEELS / TIRES:
Bogart Welded RT's
15x4.5 front
15x10" Rear
165r15 front tires
28 x 12.5 ET Streets
NOTES:
Car has had EXTENSIVE weight reduction done. No HVAC or controls (although I do still have them). Majority of sound deadening gone. All Emissions equipment is gone. Rear seats gone (wouldn't fit with the cage anyway). Dash is basically emptied of anything not necessary.
There is $1200 in almost NEW wheels tires on it, another $2000 in suspension / chassis parts, and with the cervini's cobra bumper, Kaenan hood, and a few other things I'm sure it would do better selling it as a chassis than as a $15000 91 street / strip stang.... The other $10 K in parts would probably go fairly quickly.
So what do you guys think something like this would sell for?

Definately know how you feel. I love my car but unfortunately cannot keep her.
No idea what to ask for a rolling chassis. I've seen them listed anywhere from a couple grand up to $10k. I guess you just have to think to yourself how much you realistically want to get out of the car then go ahead and list it.

Since I can pull a lot of cash out of the parts to cover what I have in mind. I might be interested in a trade for a sportbike on the rolling chassis as well...

Most people who have ridden with me in the car know how responsible I am for what I have.... must be the old age... Either way - this is more financial and long-term goal based than motivated by that...

Chris, I wish ya luck on sellin the car. That is why I chose the route of building something that is completely restored from paint to interior to engine. It is taking forever to build and almost near completion. Something that you can sell for 15,000-17,000. So then you could look at it like an investement not just a money pit that you have fun with.
