Default shifting without the clutch?

ok, well ive been shifting without lifting (foot on the gas the whole time) for a while now while i race, but somewhere on here i read about shifting without using the clutch, basically by finding the tranny and motor's sweet spot, when theyre both spinnning at the same speeds and the shifter will slide out of one gear into the next...........is that safe to do? ive been playing with it on the street by rev-matching and then using it to downshift, but i dunno if its too safe to do while racing..........any advice/input?

I never lift my foot off the gas. This subject has come up before. IMO I just can see yanking the tranny out of gear and jamming it into the next without using the clutch. Be preppared to buy new clusters. -Mark

I shift without the clutch under normal driving scenarios at and under 2,000rpms, but never racing ... that t5 will never last slamming gears without the clutch.

your tranny and clutch will love you a little more for it IMO.
