Default SVT Vs. ZX3

Where does the SVT get the extra 40 hp from when its the same motor and same compression with the "zetech" ???
Is it some lame mod liek the maximas and the altima with the exsaust change? if anyone knows its would be helpful.

I know the SVT has a nice header and I think a few of the internal motor pieces are different than the ZX3.

Intake manifold, header, exhaust, larger throttle body/maf, more agressive cams (not much more agressive though)

Don't forget variable cam timing on the intake cam. The intake manifold has variable runner length to opitmize low end torque. Different designed head. Getrag 6-speed tranny. Larger brakes and 4-wheel disks. "Sport tuned" suspension. High flow cat.

But the reason those things are so damn slow is the gearing in the transmission. Regular ZX3's running the same sort of power with the regular MTX75 5-speed are much quicker. I imagine just ditching the Getrag in the SVT would improve that car quite a bit.

Amen to that. The six speed looks "COOL" on paper to potential everyday buyers but it is definitely not needed. MTX75 all the way!
