Where to get hoods for 86 stang...
I have been looking for a new hood for my car... Everyone sells them for 87 up...
I just want to know if I could use the hood from a differnt year or need the 86 below hoods..
Please leave a link for me if you know where...

Talk to Joe@ Fordspeed, they have a couple of earlier hoods there. I picked up a 4" cowl for my 85, if they don't have it in stock I'm sure they could order one up for you.

an pre-87 carbon fiber hood is gonna prolly be a custom job........shit the JUST now came out with em for the 87-93s, and those dont sell at all, so its gonna be a long time, if ever, before someone picks up on an 86 style CF hood

ive seen em once somewhere, i think on that GT that APC made, it was in MM&FF on like the last three pages, lime green, CF hood, do a search im sure youll find the car

APC actually makes some decent quality carbon fiber hoods. However I do suggest you order it through a local retailer such as AE. That way you can look at the hood prior to taking it out the door. If anything doesn't look good, tell them to get another one. Much easier than having to ship it back yourself.
