What's up guys i should be getting my '04 cobra within a week or so and i have been looking around for some mods. I went by Ramsey's performance and they had a great package where they give you a new pulley, cat-back H-pipe, and power program your car. They say it will put me at 450rwhp. He said they sell them all the time for about $1400 out the door w/ tax. After looking through some magazines the parts seemed alot cheaper then that. But being that it would save alot of time and trouble going there do you guys think that is a decent price? Or do any of you guys have another place with a similar package that will be cheaper? It would be good race when your ready send me a PM and we can all go to the track.....and i may even go for a race to see just how much faster you are now. O and PM me when you get the car and we will go down to the track when you got a stock 04 so that it's somewhat fair. B/c to be honest putting 800 in a 04 or lets say the 1400 your thinking about vs. a pretty much stock 03 is kinda a stupid race like we don't know who would win. I wouldnt let Ramsey tune my Hundai..........Right now they have a guy driving around with a 03 making 700rwhp and they built the motor,tuned it,everything over 20,000 in thier shop and it leaks 2qts of oil a week......smokes at idle........and stalls all the time........but its fast as hell!!!!!!!
If they have a guy spending that much money driving around a car like that what do they do to the little guy spending 1400.00

you need to register on SVTperformance.com and ModularFords.com.

Basically, you want an xpipe with cats or without, any catback of your choice, any intake of your choice, 2.80 pulley, and a chip of your choice. If its done right, that should put you at 450rwhp and 480rwtq.

 

Question for Cobra people:
Is the 04 better/worse in any way than the 03?

 

It depends on which production run 03. Technically, the 3rd run 03 cobra's are supposed to be the same car as the 04 cobra. But I still think there are little differences. For example, the 04 cobra has much bigger cats. As of right now, the story is that the 04 cobra has a higher idle to get rid of the 'stall', and because of the higher idle it needed bigger cats to still comply with the emission standards.

The 04 cobra is definately better then the 1st and 2nd run cobra's. The head tick is supposed to be fixed, the front end pop is supposed to be fixed, the pull to the right and the 80mph vibe is all fixed for 04. So if your comparing 1st and 2nd run cobra's then yes the 04 is better. Not power wise, they all make the same HP, but they have all the little issues worked out for the 04. In my opinion, you will be fine with either a 3rd run cobra, or an 04 cobra. But I would spend alittle more for an 04 because it is supposed to have the stalling issue fixed.
