It is a rare car. It came from california in 1997 from Budget rental car. They had purchased around 50 saleens that year and made a select few automatics for people who didnt know how to drive stick that wanted to rent a car.

Hmm... if you can find out who the previous owner is (Sounds like a car I know pretty well, especially with those mods) post who it is. I'll tell you if it has been ragged to pieces or not. If it is who I think it is then I would not buy it.

actually its not my car it is owned by my friend in south tampa.

 

what mods do you have done to your car? I'm in the process of finding an '04 right now.

 

depending on where you're talking about my boy jimmy had one just like it. Me and him got identical 4-runners except his has spinners.

he still has the saleen except now he's got about 10grand into it and it runs high 11's. Supercharged now, he even put a 5-speed tranny in it.

 

if he was putting that much money into it, why would he put a 5 speed and not a six speed into it?

 

I hear those 5-speeds are pretty damn stout AND will make your car faster. You should test my hypothesis by swapping transmissions with me.
