Default A focus with a 03 Cobra motor for 69K.

Might be old news.

The new Sport Compact has a Focus with a Cobra motor with a rear whell drive conversion. They put a pulley and chip in it and it has something like 456whp.

Talk about 20lbs of shit in a 5lb bag. But I would hate to have that thing pull up on me and beat my ass. Hopefully the wheel hop and spin will keep it in one place.

Thing weighs 3200 lbs ! freaking lead ball. Might as well get a fox body. Just used to a lighter car I guess. That's what really kills the focus' strip times is the fact that it weighs more than most of the "tuner" cars out there already. This conversion has been around for like 1 1/2 years. Why are people still posting about it hehe. I think 6 or so grand just for the conversion kit is a little priced too considering it doesn't include much other than just some pieces of metal framing.

So you're looking at around 75,000k for this car. Sorry Focii owners, but you could really do alot with alot more things for that kind of cash hehe. I dunno I think I would much rather have something .

Here's a couple in the 50k to 75k range thant I would be more interested in

CLK55 AMG coupe, CLK430 Cabriolet, CLK430 coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Porsche Boxster, BMW M3 Convertible, Mercedes-Benz SLK32 AMG, Morgan Plus 8, Lexus SC 430, Porsche 911 Carrera, Jaguar XK8,Dodge Viper ,Jaguar XK8 Convertible

and i love the comment about the drive shaft.. almost like they intended the foucs to be AWD in the future.. they did jack ass.. its called the Focus RS and its been onsale in Europe for a while.. tpyical american jounralist thinks america invetned the car.
Zate...hate to have to correct you, but the RS is not AWD. I'm sure the platform was originally intended for some sort of prodution AWD in the future in addition to the ease of putting AWD in the WRC Focus back in 97 or 98. Now that the new platform will be out next year in Europe, all dreams of an AWD on its current platform are long gone.

Why the hell would you wanna drive around in a Focus? Especially when you could have a real 03/04 Cobra for much less...

So I'm guessing you would be bitter if a Focus owned your Cobra on the street?

Reasons for putting a V8 in a Focus:

1. Sleeper
2. 2500lbs
3. Sleeper
4. The "wow" factor when you open the hood.
5. Sleeper
6. Having the power of a Mustang in a car with quality interior and overall nice European fit/finish.
7. Sleeper
8. Insanely low insurance premium.
9. Sleeper

Putting a V8 in a Focus can be done for about half the cost of an '03 Cobra. Hell, you can do an '03 Cobra motor for well under the $68k. That inflated price tag is for a turn-key Focus. You give them the money, they give you an insane Focus. You can do it yourself for probably less than half that cost.
