alright heres the story tonight.

got stuck in a target parking lot because something broke off inside the ignition switch. the key wouldnt go in the ignition at all. took off the little black finger twist thing you turn when going to start the car with a screwdriver. got that off but it ended up breaking. anyways,

fished out some sort of copper goldish type thing that was broken inside the ignition switch. got the car started right up. now the question is,

i was told i could jb weld the black thing on, but that is half ass so i would rather replace the ignition cylinder (i think thats what it is called), in order to change it is there 2 bolts or a pin you push out? thats the question.

i got disgusted when i got home and didnt want to look at the ignition anymore tonight. like the name says, its a 91 gt.

i think i can get one at discount for like 10 bucks, but when i get it there is one wire that i can see needing to be hooked up. i will be able to figure it out when i buy the new part i am sure, but i would like to know before tearing into it again is it a pin or 2 bolts kind of hidden.

i have never messed with this before, so i would like some input.

any help would be greatly appreciated,

hey, dont know if this will help but anyway, on alot of cars the door locks are held in by a metal pin that sildes out...... i would imagine that it would be the same in the steering wheel.......

it is a pin that holds it in. i got a new one today, just have to wait till later to put it in.
