Default Tire Question

Is treadwear directly correlated to stickiness? I know Nitto's are like a 100 treadwear and I currectly have a 320. If this is the case, I'm looking for something around 200. But is this true?

Stickiness is the compound and treadwear is softness I think.

its all about sidewall flexability, actual rubber compound, and operating temp. my falkens have a 200 treadware, but they are total crap in a straight line, crappy million mile radials hook better in a straight line than those. the compound of the rubber is really important, where my falkens are just as good dead cold as they are at what ywould normally be considered good temp, where nittos and other drag tires work best heated. sidewall flex is a huge factor. hope this helps.

Also, the tread wear rating is only relative to a companies other tires. The 100 is low, but also consider that the 100 is related only to other Nitto tires. Of course, if your looking at drag radials and concerned about the wear rating...

OK, so then can someone suggest to me a good tire that isn't quite a 10-15k mile DR, but will allow me to NOT blow the tires away in 2nd gear and incrase some traction in first?

Hey thanks for the suggestion! I read alot of nice reviews of that tire! Unfortunately they do not make it in a 245/50/16. You guys have anymore suggestions?
