Deeply sorry to hear (read) about the loss of your friend. It's never an easy thing to experience but it's great that you all are doing this in his memory.

Good luck!

The stock shortblock can safely handle about 450rwhp and that is enough for 10s in a fox body, so you can keep the stock shortblock.

Get the block and internals freshened up at a reputable shop is advised if your really wanting to go fast, but you could probably get away with not doing that. Your going to need aluminum heads, a fat ass cam, a nice intake and put that s/c on and you should be in the 10s on slicks.
I'd say a stage 2 would hold up just fine. Stage 1 holds up to like a little over 300 if I remember right. They hold quite a bit of power .

Nitrous is your cheapest path to big power. Sell the supercharger and buy a stroker kit with forged pistons and connecting rods at a minimum. Spend a little more on a girdle to lend strength to the bottom end. You should be able to get the kit for around $1400 with the girdle. If the SC is complete and in good shape, it's worth more than that, depending on the brand. Next would be a set of heads. Look at some World Products Roush 180's or 200's. They flow good and are a little less expensive. They aren't AFR's, but if $ is tight, they will get the job done. Seek professional guidence on a cam, but an off the shelf grind will do the job. The rest of the intake stuff (intake, mass air, throttle body, CAI) are readily available used. Try the Corral classifieds. Check out all your stuff their, you can find a lot of deals. Anyway, get the right tune and a 200 shot, and you will have a real fast car. Find enough used parts and you should be able to put it together for under $6k.

ok not trying to push my stuff, but what i have would put you into the 10's pretty cheap.
I have a 377 stroker kit that I'm trying to sell. (it's all listed in the domestic for sale area)
10 probe domed pistons, forged rods, forged crank - $1500
Fordspeed bought my old block (sportsman 351w) that this all came out of, Rob could put it together for you at a good price.
I also have a set of Canfield heads that we could work a deal on. Complete Port job by TEA, over $1500 in work done (one cracked, and I will get a replacement worked properly for the person if a deal is struck) or they can buy the one and I'll provide the info as what is needed to get the new one to match (i've got flow sheets to go with the heads).
I've got a camshaft from CamMotion, rockers, etc.
this combination put me into the LOW 10's on motor, throw a small shot at it and you're looking upper-mid 9's easy.. If your serious let me know and we can work out the details.

Go to www.corral.net in the supercharger forum and there are plenty of stock shortblock combos to copy that run well into the 10's with very little money in them. They are proven and since you already have the blower you are on your way.

Do you own a Torch Red FRC and tremble every time you drive under I75 on Hwy 60 and look in your rearview mirror? If so you are suffering from what is known as Cobraphobia.
