Anyone know what the timing should be set at on a 1989 2.3 Mustang motor ?

I think I have it retarded way too much.

Stupid autozone sold me the wrong cap and f-ed up the rotor,cap, and turned the dist some. I had to reset everything on the GF's stang.

I got it running now after setting the timing. But I have it set at 5 notches from the bottom. I think it's supposed to be 5 notches from the top for TDC and I've no clue on how much it's supposed to be retarded/advanced etc.

The hayne's manual says jack and shit about it. It also has the firing order wrong on the distributor for her car, took me a good 45 min or so to figure out why the car wouldn't start after following the specs from the book

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
