Default First mods to get.......

Well since I got dicked out of gettign the '72 stang I've been lookign for another one to get. Well a friend wants to sell his and I am trying to get a loan for it. Well the bank said they couldn't give me a personal loan for what I needed just to buy it , so I had to ask for a bit more(didn;t understand why). So I will be left with like $700-800 to spend on it.

It's a '93 LX 5.0 5spd. Guy is going to throw in the 373 gears that were used for only a month. It has flomaster mufflers but the rest of the exhaust is stock. Also has complete MSD ignition.

I was thinking X-pipe, CAI, Chip, and short throw. What are your guys ideas?

Don't bother with a chip. I'd suggest doing a complete tuneup on the car (cap/rotor, wires, plugs, fuel filter, pcv, timing, etc.) before you do anything.

It's had all the regular maintnace done and the wores, cap, etc were all repalced with the new ignition less than a year ago. So you think the chip would be worthless? I though it would help with a lil, ie. rev limiter and such.

Exhaust, then start opening up the intake side. I would go with a h-pipe or a prochamber before the X-pipe personally, with the chambered flowmasters the x-pipes do not work as well as with mufflers such as dynomax.

Sam at coastal has a nicely ported stock intake that with exhaust would wake the car up.

Do you own a Torch Red FRC and tremble every time you drive under I75 on Hwy 60 and look in your rearview mirror? If so you are suffering from what is known as Cobraphobia.

Come to think of it, the MOST important thing you can ever do to any Mustang is put on a set of weld-on subframe connectors. Even a cheap set for $99 do a wonderful job of saving that chassis. If it doesn't already have them, get them.

We will weld some subframe connectors on your car for $100, parts and labor, out the door.

Just a heads up, we also have Pro-5.0 shifters for T-5 and T-45 trannys on Ebay right now cheaper than you can buy them anywhere.

K&n drop in filter, no need for the cai shiny chrome setup. I'd get the shifter also to save the tranny. So including install on the gears that's about 400 bucks probably less. Get that ported stock intake and a cam and your car is running very nicely for 700-800 bucks.
