Default rack and pinion

My rack and pinion has apparently gone bad(seal). Anyone know where i could maybe get mine rebuilt or a new one for a good price. My budget isnt very good so the money situation needs to be small.

Cheapest way is from a donor car or you fixing it. I'm not too familiar with what's involved fixing it when a seal is gone...

Copher-U Pull It or some junkyard like that...

Stangparts.com maybe

Not sure the year of your car, but I saw a wrecked SN95 at my last trip to Cophers (US41 and Causeway) last Saturday. Try contacting all the Barely Used places too...there is Langstons on 301 or Brandon Auto Salvage on 60 in Valrico. Both have parts already pulled and inspected.

Barely Used tried to scam me once They wanted the same $ as it would've been new.

That is definately why it pays to know your shit when you go in there. Unfortunately it seems most used parts retailers will try to scam the unsuspecting buyer. I guess you can't blame them for trying.

I would check out a reman'd one as well.

Since this is semi on topic, I also have a question. How can I change the steering ratio on mine? ie. I don't want to have to turn the wheel a turn and a half to get the wheels to move I'd rather it be tighter. I'm getting jealous everytime I drive an 4th gen fbody.
