v8 Foci
was wondering if any of you guys have seen , done, or know somebody with a v8 foci , was thinking of getting this swap done if its a feasible alternative to a turbokit (financially)
Isnt the kit like $10k or $15k plus not to mention all of the labor involved? Unless you are Jay Leno the turbo kit would be a much better choice IMO cause with the money saved you can buy a Mustang that is already RWD with a v8 and 8.8in. rear (BTW I know where a 95 GT is forsale real cheap probably less than a turbo kit).

The kit is 5k, the motor is what gets ya. Focii aren't quite cheap enough yet, unless you can find one with a blown engine or a junkyard one somewhere. It's all bolt-on and no welding required.

You can find 99-00 4-doors for dirt cheap at an auction. The swap probably wouldn't cost you more than $15k if you don't go too crazy with the motor and transmission.
There is also a shop in Orlando that specializes in doing the swap. You give them the car and money, a few weeks later you get a V8 Focus.

its not the running gear that concerns me , its the labor involved with the swap, whats the name of the shop in orlando that does these swaps ? and i thought you had to cut/weld out part of the floor pan to clear the bellhousing for the transmission and the rear floor pan to make clearence for the 8.8? or did they release a updated kit thats better designed ?
They need to make one of these kits for an Escort, now that would be badazz

The swap does require cutting of the transmission hump and the rear floor pan. You don't have to weld anything in, but I would just to be safe. If I were you, I would also look into having a cage build for the car. That car was originally meant for 130 ft/lb of torque. Cutting up the structure and adding probably 3-times the amount of torque with a RWD setup on a car originally designed for FWD can't be the safest idea for a daily driver.
