89-92 Probe or 88-92 MX-6.........I had the MX-6, nice fun lil turbo car. There's a decent aftermarket, just expensive. And the KL-ZE is a nice upgrade to the 93+ Probes......the KL-ZE is what 200hp?

Oh yeah there was also a Japanese engine for the 88-92 Probes/MX-6's also, I forget the engine code but it's a DOHC that LOVES to rev and makes pretty decent power.....especially the 260hp or so turbo'd DOHC.

if its the v6, the klze swap is a no brainer. For the fours your kind limited but im sure you could mod it to all hell if its the FE motor. I'm not to up to date on the mazda 4's besides the b-series so correct me if im wrong.

The EGR recirculates some of the exhaust to the intake manifold. Supposedly this reduces emissions by burning some of the unburned fuel in the exhaust while under partial throttle. Look for a metal tube going from somewhere on the exhaust to the intake manifold. On that tube should be a flying saucer looking thing with a vaccuum hose attached...that is the EGR valve. If you don't have this, then you don't have an EGR.
