Default oil pressure

just looking for some opinions on what my oil pressure should be in my new engine, I ran it last week and was a little worried about it cause it seemed a little low, esp. after a practice session.

what do you run in your motor, what was the pressure at idle?
the bearing clearances will play into that as well...

I was running Mobil 1 15w50 oil, at idle when cool it was fine(40+lbs.) but after about a 20 min. run session it would only be like 45 at a rev and lugging around the pits it would be less than 20 and some times the pro light would flicker. also in one real tight 2nd gear turn the light would flicker. most of the guys w/ the faster cars said they had the same and it was ok, just add an Accusump.

windage try should just keep it from sloshing around (along with the baffles), if anything with it keeping more oil by the pump, it should keep it higher..
sounds like the motor was setup loose due to extended run times.

yea, I think it is just a little on the loose side, too. I do have a Canton pan, pick up and the girdle and tray are all from them. I am just wondering if it will hurt it when the pro-light flickers in that tight turn. I am goin to pull the motor out this weekend if it isnt too cold out. see how the bearings look and cut the filter open. it was the end of the season up here anyway.

Are you running a High vol. pump?sounds way low to me.should be around 40 at idle and 70 to 80 at speed.Remember 10 pounds of pressure for every 1000 rpm for safty.
