T-5 probs

Default T-5 probs

any 1 have probs with a t-5 after a year or so...i know that they are not the greatest tranny on the market but i guess you can only get whats affordable....ive been through a few even though the car hasnt been pushed to far past its limit.

Check your bellhousing and make sure it's not warped. I had this problem in an '87 and was going through T5's about every 6 months.

thanks man....the bellhousing isnt warped because its semi new.....i dont know really, ive been through 3 in 2 years. Ive got an 85.

t5's are weird me thinks. Some people can't go a couple weeks without breaking them. And some can run 11s and 12s on them without breaking. I've had mine for over a 2 years and it has seen its fair share of racing and everything is perfect.

What's the deal?

ive been through 2 with limited track and street runs, and i know people who live on the track with them and have no probs what so ever. and yet still drive it every day.

I had two in my mustang and they seen to blow-up when you not beating on it. They just randomly blow up the third gear cluster. And wipe out the tranny.
