Sudo-Dilema
Do I spend the money on a ported head now...or should I wait until after I get a turbo? I have my new/used FR intake manifold sitting on my office floor, and it would be a great opportunity to have it port matched to the head prior to install.
Installation of a head will be a bit easier now without all the plumbing running about the engine compartment. But if my motor gives up the ghost, I don't want to risk ruining my head.
On the other hand, MM&FF got 360 fwhp out of the stock internals. When they broke down the old motor they found the internals were as cherry as if the motor were brand new off the showroom floor. So it seems the risk of throwing a rod through the block isn't as high as long as tuning is dead-on.
So what should I do?

Seriously. If you've got the stuff now, do it so you'll get some practice getting it tuned before throwing the turbo on.

I really want to set my limit at about 250-300 fwhp and hope my clutch hangs in there. I know I should (should being the key word) upgrade the clutch and get a Quaife before I up the power, but that means me taking a day or two off from work and driving up to North Carolina to the only shop that can properly install/shim the differential in my tranny.
