After seeing a stock 03 cobra with only 1600 miles on it break a half shaft this weekend at the track I would not trade my straight axel for the world.

Just my $.02

its a straight swap.. IRS for straight axel.. so its costing nothing but labor.. he has the Cobra Catback to go with it..

We'd have to swap gears aswell..i'm not letting my gears go with the straight axel..

I dont want to fork out thousands of dollars for Griggs/ MM stuff when Its not going to get that much use..

Not worried about track times as its only seen the drag strip twice.. and probably wont again..

no chance of selling it anytime soon, and if its staying, I want to do something unique with it.. see as how according to ford its worth less than a new GT Premium anyhow..

Is this going to be a driveway swap or a shop swap? What gear ratio is in the IRS? I'd like to be able to lend a hand if it is a driveway swap to help things go faster if need be. You're going to need a nice collection of shims if the differentials are going to be removed and a feeler gauge (forget the exact name of it, been up since 9am) if that is to occur. Anyway, lemme know. I work for cheap (New Castle).

its at a shop.. the guy wants it done at the shop he uses in Orlando.. Lamotta Performance.. anyone heard of em ?

He will throw in his catback (cos obviously it wont fit) and it redoing his axels and will give me back the 4.30s.. he is saying $300 eahc (ie $300 per car) is what his place will charge him.. so basically.. my car for a day.. and $300 + gas to drive there = IRS swap..

i am thinking it sounds worth it

it fits in with my future plans for the car.. i get a free walker 3inch exhaust ..
