Eh...private seller Kelley Blue Book value on your car in "excellent" condition is $12,300. You may do better selling your car using the auto trader...you have more of a chance selling it over blue book value to people who aren't affiliated with a car-related web site. Good luck to you!

Take a KBB report in with you with the trade-in value. Sounds like they were trying to jack you man. Hell I'd pay 2k for a 99ZX2

I'd say put it in Autotrader. Its only $40 and stays in till it sells. Also, whether or not your car is worth less, sooner or later some schlub will pay what you want for it. Good luck.

As for depreciation, shit I just had to pay $3k to my credit union to get my car payoff down to what it was worth so I could refinance it and put it on the selling block. Ehh, whatcha gonna do....

SVT Focii (plural for Focus) don't hold value for squat. Focii in general are bad. I was looking at dumping mine, and only was going to get $12K for it, trade in. That was at a dealership, where my uncle was the GM. I owe quite a bit more than that, seeing as how I took the first 2002 SVT Focus off of Freedom Ford's lot, and paid a pretty penny for it. "Gotta have it" syndrome is hurting me in a big way now a days!

Real Estate is definitely the way to invest your money. Hands down. Buy low, hold out, sell high.

As for listing it in the Auto Trader. It's no longer 'runs til it sells' at the $39.99 price. It's more like $74.99 for that option I believe. I just sold my 93 Civic Coupe in there, and only opted to have it listed for 3 months.
