How much does TEA charge for a head porting? I've been tossing around the idea of having a local place port a stock Focus head, instead of having to pay one of the Focus specific shops to ship one out to me.

I'm wondering if it would be feasible to have a complete ported head, totally assembled with larger valves for under $1500...this is including the cost of a stock head.

Dont try porting 2v mod heads you wont get much flow at all.

All the flow comes by knowing where to take metal out of the bowl area and combustion chamber.

I saw a set of really pretty ported heads a guy did they looked like they would flow awesome, but when he put them back on he made 10rwhp more and he was supercharged.
He then took the heads off and had them flowed and only had gained 15cfm in/20cfm ex.
The moral of the story is you cant make these things flow by use old head theory's.
There is alot of trial and error and technology in Mod Motor heads and you need to get them done by a good company.
Powerheads ges 230/190
Tea is 220ish/190ish
T&J Performance is 248/200ish
Race Related uses a guy and say they flow around 250/200,but I have not seen a flow chart of them......Yet!
All these heads are with bigger valves.
If you stay with the stock valves you wont go but around 200/175
Stock is 166/150ish so use you money wisely good heads make more power than almost any other mod on these cars.
Also get Compcam Springs/and a Compcam Cam when you are doing it so you only have to do it once.
Avg porting retaining stock valves is 800.00
Avg porting with bigger valves and better springs is 1200.00 and up depending on what you want!

Oh yeah forgot these flow are on 99up heads.
96-98 heads with bigger valves and everything will only flow 200/160ish maybe more on the ex. but not much.

Dont even waste your money if you are going to port 96-98 heads.

Yeah the 96-98 2v heads are garbage lose them(if you havent already) as fast as you can. You will never get much power with those heads.

Actually I think mine were more like 230/213. If your carefull, and know what your doing somewhat, I think you could make decent improvements at home.
My bad I thought I had your flow chart from them and it was 224 and something Ill look.
Either way TEA are good but there are better flow out there it just costs more.
