So where is the intercooler in the picture? All I see is scirrocco radiators.

Look at the picture of the passenger area. Looks like they're using a air/water heat exchanger. I would presume there's a reservoir tank elsewhere probably with some sort of superchilled liquid sufficient for a 1/4 run.
