Post possable project???

I friend and myself were toying w/ an idea of taking an old Escort and making it a rear wheel driver and dumping in a 302. Has anyone ever witnessed this other than a car they saw at the track for a few runs. Basically trying to see what where getting into. Heard from someone that we would have to get a custom cross member and cut down the rear end and drive shaft for this. Along w/ some firewall mods. Heard that they did the same to a focus and wasn't that bad off, but I'm expecting more problems and work than anything. If you have any heads up on this hit me up. Kinda tired of ricer's unless they can get sideways in turns. Anyways going to do a search on google but you know any links you can think of post 'em and I'll read it up. later.

It would probably be easier to do it with a Focus 4-door. They are dime-a-dozen, and you can find the '99 to '00 pretty cheap. Plus Kugel makes all of the components to do the V8 swap easily.

I heard the same thing about the focus and part availablity. But I'm wanting to do something a bit diffrent, besides a 5 liter escort probaly would make a lot of people snap necks "look and wonder why" Not to be an ass but do you think you can find a focus as cheap as an old escort "shells" like pre 92 escort? Just wondering.
I heard about a Escort wagon at th track w/ a 460, if it is an EXP that's even cooler... But is the torque to wieght ratio all that good, wouldn't it be better w/ the 302?

Bring back the Scort!! $$$ A guy on my escort forum has an exp with a v-8 in it. The car runs consistent 6.60's in the 1/8 mile at 104 mph

i gotta 91 escort gt with 290k miles
i wont lie
just keep adding oil every 2 weeks
no tune ups for like at least 5 years
rag on it
dont check the coolant
and its never left anyone stranded yet
the starter does not wanna work sometimes
but it still gets the cat started
if your looking to buy i am just letting you know what ima get getting rid of as soon as i get the rex on the road
ohh yeah
interior is pretty crappy
seats look bad and drivers seat is crap
most electrical stuff like lights inside and cig lighter dont always work right
a/c problems when turned to max and motor and tranny mounts are bad. shakes can be measured on the rector scale when the ac is running at a complete stop at idle
sounds like a good car right?

Rishi whats the frame like, I can understand the infamous rally beatdown for teh cort... I use to own a 86 EXP w/ a 91 probe power plant inde... lots of fun untill that bitch uhm er x totalled it. "long story"
escortlvr, I'll check out teh site, hell theres not much diffrence between an escort and an EXP other than body... The frame is pretty much teh same. Know this cause I wa always werking on my ex's corts "3 of them" and they always got ran down by the EXP... ha ha..
So ever one knows I'm looking for the old dirty style like pre 93' simpley because of the after market body parts. trust me it will be nasty. w/ a capital N....
