Getting ready to get rid of the cobra

I'm getting close to starting a new project which means I'll be unloading the cobra. I'm wanting to see if there is any interest in buying it as-is. I'm not looking to get rid of it for at least a month, so I'm not putting this in ForSale.. I'm just trying to gauge interest as is so I can decide whether to return it to stock.

For those of you who don't know me here's the details

What kind of mileage does she have?

Leonard 09-26-2003 04:26 PM

mileage is right up near the top.

How much?

Leonard 09-26-2003 05:10 PM

I'm thinking 19k. I'd rather NOT put all the effort to returning it to stock and trying to sell all the parts.

whats your daily driver going to be?

Leonard 09-26-2003 06:16 PM

probably gonna get a small pickup truck initially. Enough to tote around donor parts and the such while I'm doing the kit build. (Plus it cuts insurance costs so I have more free cash for it too). Once the cobra is finished I'll probably get a bigger truck capable of towing it on a trailer.

I am planning on doing a Factory five kit as well...eventually. I will be using a modular cobra as the donor though. They had one at SEMA in November and it was BADA$$! You should hide your Cobra, report it stolen, get the kit, insert your motor, tranny, brakes, IRS, etc... Oh wait, did I just say that outloud? But think about how fast it would be, how well it would handle and stop! Man I am getting excited!

Unfortunately, a modular motor doesn't fit without extensive frame modifications in the FFR. (You have to reduce the size of the footbox among other things -- i'm tall and need the space). You'd need custom j pipes and a million other little things to make it all work. If I had a machine shop in my garage it wouldn't be a big deal, but I don't. Pushrods make cheap power. Modular's are expensive. Plus you get into a bunch of headaches with the eecV computers. (like PATS).

Also, I want to run SCCA AP (which requires a maximum wheel size of 16x10) so I can't use the 13" brembo's.
