Default 1.6's or 1.7's?

with the setup I wanna do
E cam, bigger valves, port and polished heads, would 1.7's clear?
or should I stay safe and just use 1.6's?

I can get Crane 1.7's for 50 bucks then resell them and I guess make a few more bucks then purchase some 1.6's with the springs and retainers.

Chris....

Yes if you dont shave them. But youll make alot more power if you do.Just notch the pistons and hang on.

for what you're doing I'd chose the 1.6s.. don't know the specs of the e-cam, but with stock heads I don't see you making use out of much more than .550 lift and that's pushing it..

Even with the stock heads worked, I still don't see it making use of a cam with decent lift.. What he could do is get one with a good amount of durration, which will help fill the cylinder.. although 230 is ok.

ok thanks for all the help so far.
Lets say I get the 1.94/160 valves, then most likely shave the heads to around .30 thousanth's and then get an E cam or a Trick Flow cause they are cheap and flow a little higher numbers than most.
u would choose 1.6 for clearance?

thanks again for help
