Default ? for the Mustang folks....

Sure you can guys can help out. A friend of mine at work just bought an 03 GT Vert. 5 Speed today. He doesn't race or anything of the sort, he's just interested in a few upgrades for the Stang. He will drive it daily, so nothing major here is what he was looking for recommendations on:

Intake
Exhaust
Shifter
Chip

Maybe anything else you guys might recommend also. He just wants the better brands of the parts above. I appreciate the help.

Well, alot of these mods depend on personal preference. But this is what my list would be.

Intake - just get a K&N filter
Exhuast - bassani xpipe/catback
Shifter - Pro 5.0
Chip - No need for a chip.

If it's a daily driver I' wouldn't do more than : gear, cold air,H or X pipe.

Tell him to get a set of full length subframes. I know they're not a 'cool' mod, but the convertibles have a TON of chassie flex and putting in subframes will tighten it up a lot and keep it from turning into a rattlebox.

i would do 3.73 gears if it is highway driven, 4.10 or more if it isn't. I'd also go with the removed silencer and k&n filter, along with offroad pipes and a flowmaster catback. A chip isn't really useful until you have some real power anyway, so i wouldn't recomend getting a chip.

1. GEARS 4.10 (don't fear the gear)
2. Aftermarket short throw of your choice
3. Cat-back exhaust
4. Steeda Timing Adjuster and Underdrive Pulles(proven mods)
5. Hi-flow or offroad pipe (X, H or Pro-Chamber)
6. Weld-in Subframes

4.10s, maybe even 4.30s

dont spend $200 on some BBK intake...u can make one from home depot for like $9 and its just as functional.(not joking)

off rd h-pipe(low end TQ, mod motors need it)

flowmaster catback

and maybe a shifter...or a set of nitto's if $ allows..thats how i would do it..id dont care if my under hood is pretty... function over form

though for me, you'd have to change it to 10 inches, and you'd have to change inches to millimeters, and you'd have to change 10 to 5 and you'd have to change dick to poor excuse for one.
