Honestly - there are not any local shops that I know of that do a reflash of the PCM - mostly all do some sort of chip (autologic, superchips, diablo, etc.) - and many don't even do the tuning themselves. There are some tuners out there that do it for Mustangs but I'm not sure of what they can do for an escort.

Best place I can think of for what you're looking for would be www.fordchips.com

I know they are going to be here in August doing a local dyno tune from what I've been told. I would email them if you are serious about getting this done - I'm pretty sure they could accomodate your request.

If I get enough extra money I am going to be buying some chips and a burner/software from this company that only does domestics including Ford cars. That will be a little bit down the road though as I am strapped for money for school at the moment hehe. If you can find a connection to a dealer, couldn't a Ford dealer flash the computer?

Ford dealer can really only do it to factory specs for that vehicle. like in my case i have oversized tires on my ranger. it will not allow me to calibrate it for my 265's but goes up to a 235. it pulls up the VIN# and everythig nand allows for only what that vin decodes. i would say get the chip.

power man its about time you got back to me about this.

as far as the pcm its was a rare production that ford did for the 99 zx2 s/r, its a more agressive pcm for the car and with base mods like intake and ehxasut can get my car to 150 hp easily.

i am in the provcess of looking for an old s/r so i can ge tthe vin off it and see what i can do from there as far as reflashing my pcm
