new personal best for me :)
dont post here much, but i got a new personal best with the new engine.
6.37 n/a letting off before the mph cone at 106mph the car on a earlier pass spinning the tires from the starting line and through the gear changes then moving around a lot ran 6.39 at 112mph.
so far i'm only shifting it at 6500rpms, engine should take 8500rpms i think.
went from 1.50 60fts and 6.95 et's in a n/a 302 to 1.37 60ft first time out with a 6.37 babying it pass.
it has a slight issue though, the reason i had to get out of it is the engine goes flat (sounds like its on the rev limiter from outside the car) and stops accelerating when we started going faster. feels like it hits a brick wall almost.
assume it must either be fuel or ignition, the coil wire had white chalky substance coming off the end and the coil looked burnt i noticed, not sure if that is the cause, or maybe a bad ignition itself. has a digital 6plus in it. doesn't effect the first two gears but in 3rd when its winding out on the top goes dead. kind of put a bummer on the night.

on the 6.37 the car shut off before the mph cones, i'm not sure why, just went flat and almost sounded like it was on the rev limiter.
if i could figure out that problem i think it has 6.20's in it pretty easily.

I was thinking about going to lakeland, but from what I here its not that great right now. Id like to go to bmp sat morning but don't know if they have a t&t this weekend or bracket classes. What are you using for rear suspention, those are good 60ft's

for your level of car i don't know if i would try lakeland, they just don't keep on top of the track enough to keep it in good enough condition for fast cars i believe.
i use wolfe race craft upper and lowers with a moser 9in with lowered uper arms to match the 8.8 mounting holes. and a chris alston anti roll bar.
pretty sure my ignitions going bad though.

I played with mine all day, trying to find a better I.C. The best 60ft I could get the last few races was a wopping 1.36, and went a 5.29 @ 141mph. If I can drop at least a tenth off my first 60 feet and leave the same tune in it I would be happy with a low teen.

best i can do at the moment, that is less engine trans in the picture though so its not a good rep.
i'll see what i can do, over the weekend if we pull the car out of the trailer.
moser sells a 9inch ford rear end for the fox body with the top i's lowered to the 8.8's stock mounting point. we originally had a fab9 rear end but the top i's (same with the moser9inch that is made like that fab9) are too high and cause a steep down word angle, the 8.8 mount location is much lower and more straight across. by doing this we went from having the rear lift up too much to dead hooking and going straight.
all my mounting points are completely stock, the mounting point i was referring too are the upper i's on the rearend.
i'll have to talk to my dad if you want info on the suspension set up he is the one he set it up.
its on 28x10.5's at the moment.
