I wish I knew a good tranny builder in the Tampa area that will stand behind their work.
I had a guy up north that built TH350/400's and did some work with the 700R4 I had in my Camaro. Nothing but great work. I've lost contact him sadly. His name was Jeff Moon. If anyone from the southern Md area knows this guy let me get his # please.

Here in Tampa used to be a couple guys Fernando and Chris.,. they ran Transmission Physicians. Stood behind their work. They specialized in GM transmissions but could do Ford as well. They were up to date on all the newest shit. They closed up shop. They were the only one's in this area that I would ever have trusted and recommended to anyone.

I have a guy that is reasonable and can rebuild any transmission. You going to pull it? PM for #. My buddy just redone a Tauras tranmission for Razor if you need a reference.

Are you putting any power to it? If so, at a minimum, I would recommend a good/aftermarket valvebody (not a shift kit).

i have it behind a big block 429. it might be making 500 hp. since day one the transmission shifts funny...sometimes holds gears to long other times it wont shift back to first from a stop. always just a bit wacky. im thinking about going to see tim moye...ive only heard good things about him.

Stock kickdown hooked up and adjusted properly? Sounds like that or something sticking in the valvebody.

Actually, it sounds to me like the vacume modulator isn't hooked up.

If this happens, then it will likely hold gears up to around 3500 RPM or higher depending on the load.

I know this is old, but I'm new to the forums. I just got my AODE tranny rebuilt for my 95 stang. I used Dan's Transmissions in Hudson florida. Told him what I needed, got all hi-po clutches, bigger servos, 2500 stall, stage 2 shift kit, transcooler and 2 yr/ unlimited warranty for 1200. Been driving the car for a few weeks now and really like the work.
