Kaenen hoods. Anyone need one?
I'm planning on making a trip out to pick up a hood from kaenen over on the east coast.
If anyone else would like for me to pick up a hood for them while I am out there let me know in advance.
EDIT:
Kaenen sells any hood you want for $350. This will save you the $90 - $120 shipping plus any mark up that retailers charge you.
I'm not doing this to make any money. If you want to ride along,.. I have room for 3 more. If you want me to pick one up for you let me know what name the hood is under.
I'm thinking about heading out next Mon. the 21st.
Kaenen said they need 2 hours advance notice when picking up a hood that they carry in stock so they can perform final prep.
Kaenen's # is 321-768-7986.
There is no smoking in my truck though.

I'm getting a classic 4" bolt on cowl hood. They said they have Fox and SN95 hoods in stock for $350 plus tax for any hood you want except for custom orders. You just have to call them 2 hours ahead of time before you pick up so they can do some final prep work.

I was planning to head out on Mon or Tues but my truck isnt safe to make a long trip like that yet. I just got it out of the body shop Sat. They were supposed to replace a front tire that got gouged and they didnt. I'm not making a long trip with that tire. I ordered new tires from Tirerack but they wont be here till Weds. I also have to take my truck back to the body shop Mon morning because when they repaired my truck they crossed some wires and shorted something out because I my communications center and digital display on my stereo is out. Last thing I need is for my truck to be on the side of the road somewhere with my trailer loaded up.
So I'm going to say I'll try to make it out to Kaenen probably Monday next week. I think StealthGT92 said he wanted to ride out there with me to get a hood for his car. So I figured I'd get the word out that I'm heading over there for hoods. So if someone wants to get a good hood for a great price and save on shipping just let me know. I have room for 5 people in my truck (No smoking in my truck) and if I bring my trailer I probably carry up to 50 hoods or more.

Hurst, what is the smallest cowl they make? I personally am not a fan of any cowl hood, I love the look of a stock hood but in fiberglass.

I'm not sure. Give them a call and ask them. I'm not an expert on their hoods. I just know that they have a reputation for a good finished quality hood. I've never owned a Kaenen hood. I've had Cervini, Harwood and a few generic brands. This will be my first time using a Kaenen.
The way they explained it to me. The underside of the hood is not completely finished. They have a double outer frame that surrounds the edges of the hood for strength and support but the middle is only a single layer and not a smooth finished surface underneath.
I would imagine 2" would be the most common cowl hood. But I dont see why you couldnt ask for a 1" either.
Harwood makes a steel 2 inch bolt on cowl hood.

Yeah, I hear ya. I have seen Kaenan hoods and the cowl part underneath is not completely finished. I will probably just stick with cervinis because I know all their hoods are completely finished underneath but damn I hate paying that 90.00 freight charge on a 495.00 hood

$350 plus a little bit of gas money is a pretty good deal to me so I'm going to try a kaenen this go around.
