You coward! You didn't go for the top bolt by the firewall Got that T-shirt. Bleah. PITA or sure. Don't forget to stick a reducer into the inlet pipe. I just use an old 10mm socket.

Gonna change mine out in the '86 while the dash is out. If I don't, that's the surest way to insure that it blows up the first time coolant hits it.

yeah Tony you noticed my pry bar! I did have to loosen that bolt a few turns. Afraid if I took it out I would never get it back in.

I've always said that automotive engineers are a bunch of sick bastards. They always take at least one component or one bolt that is integral to the proper/comfortable operation of the vehicle and make it so that it fails on a regular basis. Then, they design and build the rest of the vehicle around it in such a way that it is impossible to get to.

Did ya get it buttoned up? How many screws did you have leftover?

still apart, going to finish it this morning. My hazard plug, all the wires fell out. Thank goodness for Google. Thats first. I was debating about putting it back as my dash I noticed has a few cracks in it and wondering if i should find another one after doing all this.

There is a mod available I think from poorboys racing or some shit, about using a dremel to make an accessory door just in case the repair is ever needed again. U would only need to drop.the glovebox and pull open the access door and remove the heater core. Just throwing it out there.

well good advise but I finished it today. few things not put back and that is the radio. going to Best Buy to buy one, and armrest delete. possibly hazard switch. That piece of wood was well needed to get the heater core out.
