Hey Bret, Thanks again for the burger, fries, and the beer. It definately helped me during my mourning.

I'll probably pull the tranny after Christmas. I got it off the trailer and reverse works, 1st, and 2nd. I put it in 3rd and lots of clanking/banging but car doesn't move. lol.

What pisses me off is that for 10yrs I beat the ever living shit out of my stock T45. Probably over 150-200 passes on it, then I rebuild it to hold more power and it bought the farm after 1500 miles and 25 passes.

Fuggin promotion wants $1100 to face plate 2, 3, and 4. And thats me just giving them the gears. No thanks.

IMO - the only reason anyone should be running any revision of any t45 t5 i sif they have to because of a class restriction or something. They have a lot of "magic" parts for them but the transmissions just aren't reliable.

Aside from an auto what other manual transmissions are there? T56's are not ideal for drag racing(2 OD gears and gearing sucks). TKO's suck when shifting above 6500 unless its proshifted/faceplated. Those are not fun on the street. So you're left with T5/T45's/3650/3550's.

Someone gives you lemons you make lemonade.

I agree on the TKOs not shifting well but T56s do and aside from the weight difference, the gearing is pretty close.

First gear in a T56 is a lot taller than the T45. You can have a 3.73 gear with a T45 and leave like you have a 4.30 when using a T56. The difference is that dramatic. Not to mention the butter smoothness of being able to shift effortlessly at any RPM, even above 7000.

My son's car has a 3550 based TKO II, its notchy, temperamental and harder to shift as the RPM's increase. I've a another TKO I got from Kelly, he swears by it and says I was shifting smooth at over 6500. Even has a video,.. I'll have my car running by April so I'll let you guys know for sure.

Mark,
I was hoping it was just the clutch....

I am not sure what you should put in there, but I am all about what we talked about. Just add the SC and the auto.... you can then make that coupe unhappy!!!

Mark, see what happens when you talk about kicking my little 4 banger's butt? I hope the Diacos are unharmed at least. (They say your memory goes to hell when you get old...but, fortunately, some things seem stick with you no matter what)
