Finally got a job! It's in Clearwater (and I live in Brandon/Clair Mel) but it's a JOB!

Which pays more than $133 per week. (Which is how much I make on unenjoyment.

In fact, it's full time plus plenty of overtime.

Downfall...It's welding. Uptake, I love to weld. Downfall, it doesn't pay as much as I want, but it's a far cry better than minimum wage, with a raise after 30 days. $12 per hr for now....And a raise up to $16 per hr in 30 days if I work out.

Maybe now I'll be able to afford to fix my car and buy a new motorcycle.

Congrats man. WHy the hell are you only making $133 on unemployement? I was making $275 a week on unemployement.

 

Because at my last job, most of the pay was put into my wife's name, so it was like I was only getting min wage. Plus, I was on my 4th extension. For some odd reason, when it went to that, it went down from 166 per week.

 

Damn man, that sucks. But glad you got a job.

Shit... welders don't make shit for cash unlss I'm missing something.

 

well it depends on certification ill be finishing welding school in 6 mouths with a 6g pipe fitting cert and ill start at 26.00 a hr union, in 4 years ill hit journeyman and that pays about 45.00 hr and alot more if i go off shore oil rig or Alaska.. keep in mind this is not around hear, ill be moving to Texas or Louisiana.

 

I was 6g certified for a LONG time in Seattle. Never went union though....Highest I got paid in Seattle, was like $14 per hr.

If you're going to be a welder, you HAVE to go union, or yes...The pay is shitty.
