Backwards Engine mounts
Are there right and left motor mounts on a '97 cobra motor? or can you use either on either side?
I tried to drop in my cobra motor into my '84 vert and I couldn't get it to line up. I needed about an inch or so more room between the heads and the heater inlet/outlet tubes.
Let me know.
Thanks.
Mike

Ok, I guess I should have specified. The complete suspension has been swapped out with aftermarket parts to include a tubular K-member specifically for the 4.6.
In case anyone is interested, no, the motor mounts cannot be swapped. They are side specific.
'97 to '01 motor mounts are the same according to advance auto parts. (I'd check somewhere else before taking as gospel. I don't trust them. Been burned by them before)
The engine went in last night. I lowered the k-member about 6 inches, dropped the engine into the k-member mounts and then jacked the k-member/engine back into place.
I do have the 2inch of space between the engine and firewall everyone promised me.
Now, how level is the motor once permanently placed in the car? Mine tilts back a little even when the transmission is bolted in place.
Thanks everyone for the help.

Here is the project thread. Not much has happened since I put it up. Housework and relative season have put a hold on the project.
The weather is becoming hotter so I guess that means I'll have more time to work on it. That's the way it normally works.
