Extra work / Side Money / 2nd Job
The other thread got me thinking. In this economy, what are some realistic side jobs that could make some nice cash for say someone who works a regular Mon-Fri daytime schedule?
What do you do, or know someone who does something on the side for extra significant cash? Or are you guys all as broke as me?
Here are a few that I came up with, but with this economy, I don't know how they would do.

Here are a few that I came up with, but with this economy, I don't know how they would do.
- Lawn/Landscaping (I'm sure a lot of people are cutting back here)
- Pizza Delivery
- Restaurant Server (Somehow, I think I would suck at this, and I'm only guessing that the evening shift would be the hardest to get?)
- Photography (I don't even have a camera, but this is something I have been wanting to do (as a hobby, plus I have a lot to learn)
- Buying things and Selling them on Ebay (Somehow this really seems like a good idea, but I draw a blank, wouldn't know what is a good or bad price or what would sell etc.)
- Gigolo This sounds like sooo much fun, but I'd need to upgrade some equipment first!

you can buy storage units that people dont pay the bill for at the storage places quarterly sales. They tell you of the things that can be seen when entering the unit. Then you sell all the crap on the web.

yep.... I was gonna say the same exact thing. There is one guy on here named Smitty that does it, and he has gotten some nice crap and sold it quickly. Hell, i bought a sony HD camcorder from him for 80.00. He said he paid 120.00 for the storage unit and made 4 times that much selling the stuff in it. Kinda sucks for the people who owned it because all of the sentimental and private things in the storage unit, but... Hey, what can you do?

I used to detail boats/yachts. Not much overhead and the money is good. You can knock out a 20' boat in a day and make $300 or more. It's just that right now business is down b/c of the economy.
Oh and you have to be skilled, detailing boats is a little different than just doing your car. A monkey could do it though if taught by another monkey with skills.

Anyone have anymore info? Or know where these auctions are held?

Auctions are heald at any storage facility. Just call them and ask when their next auction is. In most cases, the manager will be happy to tell you. Then show up, look....bid...win...have fun sorting through all the crap you bought for like $125. Out of all that crap, you will have to throw away about 3/4 of it. So be prepared for a junk bill. Then, hope that what you bought was worth what you paid for it. I went to an auction once, there was a 4-wheeler in a unit all beat to hell. These guys paid $450 for the unit...The thing wouldn't start up. LOL Too bad for them. Bottom line, when you purchase a storage unit, it's a gamble....Sometimes you win....Most times you loose big time.
