well most of my family and friends went back to pc. im staying at st. pete with my dad, the twins' mom and a few people from up north will be staying at a hotel. i plan on staying up the whole nite with him even tho technically hes dead his heart still beats and i want him looking down and seeing me next to him
we got to do a pretty cool foot and hand print impression of him and we will get to help give him a bath tonite
his lungs just got checked out and they are fine to get donated. its a pretty amazing feelng to know that a bunch of parents with dying kids across the untied states are going to get a call soon saying my brothers organs can help their son or baby girl live
i really hope lil christians organs can save a few lives and that i can keep in contact and eventually meet the children

Pool safety is a huge issue when there are toddlers and even young children around.

What a shame it had to happen.

Im not gonna bullshit man, I couldn't work right all day because I was thinking about this so much, it was just throwing me off big time. My little sister was born a premature cleft lip and pallet baby. She spent the first month of her life in a incubator and has been threw sixteen surgeries. I have watched her die three times and had to resesitate her twice. So this hits very hard to heart and I commend you sir for keeping you're sanity and coming to terms with it. I couldn't do the same.

According to the article the 3 y/o left the gate open, I think that we all realize that there's enough blame to go around, but you are going to have to really protect that kid, you can't have him growing up with some guilt trip when, in reality, it was most likely due to lack of supervision on the part of some adult.
I've personally responded to several kids who ahve drowned and all I can say is that it really truly sucks, older people at least have had a chance at life but I never get over kids (the last died at birth in an apartment) and despite trying to do all we could there really was no hope for the little girl.
It's just hard on everyone, good luck with it, but I too believe there's a reason for it.

^ As adults, we have the responsibility to look out for our children. We have to be smarter and more agile and more cunning than they are. I remember watching a friends kid before I had my own. Darn little girl grabbed a fork and stuck it in a light socket before I could grab her. The look on her face was priceless, but the look on MY face must have been sheer horror. I thought she was going to die for sure and I was on the other side of the room.

As an aside, my own kids have been close to falling victim to the dreaded pool. My daughter fell in to our apartments pool when we all had a party there on day. She couldn't swim. I ruined everything in my pockets that day because I was the only adult to jump into the pool to save her. Then my son, decided to go for a swim in the hot tub at the same apartment complex....without me! I had turned around for just a second, and when I looked back, he was missing. I went into the room with the hot tub, and his Elmo slippers were swirling around in the hot tub. Another set of shoes and pocket full of stuff ruined. But I got VERY lucky, because both of my kids are ok today because of my (sometimes lazy) watchful eye. If I had not been paying attention, I would have written off my daughters thrashing about in the pool as a kid being goofy, and my son missing as him wandering off somewhere else. So I avoided tragedy. Pools are evil, and we need more responsible adults when children are around pools or other bodies of water.

Great job at preventing those things from happening. I remember reading about a child who drowned in a 1/4 full bucket full of soap water when her mother was using it to clean the bathroom. Her mother went out to check on the laundry. She was playing with a toy and the toy fell in the pool. When she tried to get it she fell in head first. It's that easy for tragedy to strike.
