This SERIOUSLY pissed me off when he disrespected me and all my military brethren. It made me want to punch him in the throat and then shoot him behind the ear.

 

To get back to the demise of the auto industry for a moment....
I would submit that government interference was at least partially to blame for that. Back in 69-70 America was making the best cars on the planet, Boss Mustangs, Z28 etc, it was all good. Then in 1971 Congress passed the first part of the Clean air act, in itself a good idea, it never took design lead time or technology into consideration. The second part of the CA act was when convertors were introduced about 1975. While this was going on Congress also passed new automotive safety parameters, like 5 mph bumpers and a bunch of other stuff, once again, never allowing any design or technology lead time.
The end result was that Detroit had to rely on a bunch of ill sorted, stop gap measures to get the cars pass the clean air act, added to this was the weigth penalties of the new crash standards. The American car became an overweight gas hog over night, it's dependabiltiy had vanished.
Along comes OPEC in 1972-3 that cut off the oil supply, and put the finishing nails into Detroit's coffin, this kicked the door open for fuel efficient well engineered dependable import cars and Detroit has never been the same.
The remarkable thing to me is that the auto industry was considered rogue by building "fast and dangerous" vehicles and it had to be reeled in by the US Congress because the auto industry obviously couldn't police itself. There fore the US Congress had laid the groundwork for the destruction of the US auto industry.

The same had been said of the housing industry, where government intervention actually added to the housing bubble and bad loans and now it's being used as an excuse to regulate the health insurance industry. Be careful what you ask for, government regulation is not your friend.

 

Yup. But don't forget that the UAW pounded a few coffin nails too. Not unlike SEIU is doing now.

"You know what I can give you 34K!" What?? This is a total 180 flip from his campaign policies regarding how he's gonna handle the war issues!! He's turning into Bush all over again!! Even Bill Maher is at his wits end with this guy!!

 

i just hope he doesnt get re-elected then were really fucked. but he is favoring that islam a little too much. they dont have anything to do with how this country was built they brought poverty with them and arab disease when they came. someone needs to blow him away with a 50. cal right off the stage in the middle of a speech that will send a message to those arab motherfuckers we know how to take care of problems around here too we just dont strap explosives and end ourselves too

 

A Muslim Socialist with Chicago Mob training --- I hope his voters are happy with him. Your sentiment is shared with many, I am sure. Most do not have the balls to freely share that with others ... the quiet angry ones.

Look forward to the 2010 Rejections --- everyone then can weaken that group in D.C. by voting his party's majority out! Not necessarilly the complete fix, but a damn good way to shake things up.

 

the other problem is, who do we vote in? they're all money hungry crooked lifetime politicians looking to line their own pockets at the expense of the common man, just the present "dear leader" doesn't even like this country.

 

True, but this mob is out to kill the goose that laid the golden egg at the same time they are lining their pockets. A good way to start is to see if they have a (D) after their name. Then, take a long harsh look at the ones with an (R) after theirs. Remember that Republican does not necessarily mean Conservative.

 

And before that it was Bush and his Republican majority that were ruining it all.
And before that it was Clinton and his Democratic majority that were ruining it all.
And before that, well, you get the idea.


Military strategists all agree. The best way to win is to divide and conquer. This crap pitting people who call themselves Republicans and people who call themselves Democrats against eachother is just a ruse. The politicians at the top are ALL in bed together, and are lining eachother's pockets while pointing and laughing at you people squabbling like idiots over a political label.

Step 1 to fixing this country, wake up and realize that R or D makes no difference anymore, they all abandoned their party's historical values, and they suck and all need to go. There is only ONE United States of America, there is no (R) or (D) there.
