well i was on my way to work this morn, cruising along at about 45 mph or so when a run over a fucking 4-5 ft ALLIGATOR!!!!! wasnt enough room to swerve so i tried to line him up so he would go under the car and not get hit. didint work that way bitch was wider than the car...out of all things a fucking gator . so i hear him moving his tail and i thought oh great the mofo is stuck under the car. so i back up and still see no gator. so i jump out, yes jump i didnt want that damn thing to get my leg , and flag down some guy in a truck(i forgot my cell of course).
he calls 911, 911 gives us a gator hotline number lol. call it and its a fucking recording. so we leave a message. we hear the gator moving again and finally see that hes actually on the side of the road and not under the car...hes got a broken front leg and blood coming out of his mouth... 5 mins later a fire truck rolls up. so were all just standing around the gator just watchin him not knowing what to do...finally the gator starts moving off the side of the road back down into the ditch...so we all go to leave and of course now a cop shows up. me and my wife explain to him what happend and he does all of his callin his cop peeps to see what to do. then another cop pulls up, then another. so 3 cops and they finally got ahold of some trapper guy who was suppose to come out within 30 min-1r...the cops leave were waiting around, trapper never shows. gator eventually goes back down into the swamp/wooded area. and we leave.

long story short run over alligator= me, 1 random dude,911, fire dept, three cops, and a no show trapper only for the gator to help himself...
feel bad for hitting it....

Awesome Story! Ive been in florida 4 years and have yet to see one alligator anywhere!

 

Look in ANY body of freshwater in FL and you will see one.....take that back, multiple

 

I used to work out at the mines near wachula and I saw so many gators it was amazing.
actually a friend of mine who worked out their TOTALLED his 87 lx hitting a 12 foot gator! (which is average to small where I worked)

 

I saw one about 4' long on the side of 301 that had been hit. Pretty sure he was dead though.

I don't want to hit a 12' gator in my LX, that's for sure. This all reminds me of when my wife was driving on vacation. We were flying down US 19 up by Chiefland at night. There were deer all along the side of the road and Tammy asked, "If one of those deer jumps out in the road, should I swerve or just hit the brakes and hold it straight?" I told her they were just Florida deer, not like the cow sized ones we were used to up north so hit the brakes and hold her straight. Better to hit that little deer than to lose control and smack a big ass tree or pole. She said fine and we continued on our way. When we got into the Crystal River area where you see the bear crossing signs she said, "Shit! What if a bear jumps out in front of me?" I said, "Hit the fucking tree. At least the tree won't get pissed and eat you." Seems like with a 12' gator you should hit the tree too...but then the bastige would probably eat you no matter if you hit him or the tree. I hope your friend escaped, Rick.
