For the older guys here
hey I want to join the party but I can't compare to Herr Doctor!
fullback
jumped, one really bad landing
topped off with a motorcycle accident where the car, the bike, and yours truly were all totalled!!
I'm 44 but I had an MRI and x rays done, it was pretty strange story.
I go to the doctors for them to read my pics, they called me and cancelled.
then they called me back and asked if I could come in anyways.
they told me the reason they cancelled is because they thought they had the wrong x rays, no one with this much arthritis in their back would be able to walk they claim LOL

I have 2 discs in bad shape like yours. Mines from working 20yrs in construction and lifting my disabled brother for the last 23 years,.. and as the years progressed,.. he went from 160lbs,.. to now he's probably close to 280lbs and has been over 225lbs for the last 15 years or so. My doctor told me not to lift him anymore,. but sometimes thats not an option.
I'm terrified of surgery so I've chosen to deal with the pain. I'm on 300mg of Tramadol daily. Tramadol is non narcotic and I prefer it when the pain isnt too bad. But I also have oxycodone for when I cant even lay in bed. Only thing is that the oxycodone knocks me out for hours. Then I feel liek I'm in a stuper when I wake up,.. really dont like it,.. but its about the only thing that kills the pain.
I have a Teeter board that I hang upside down in. My wife got it for me last year and I have to say my back has been much better since I've been using that thing.

it takes 40mg of oxycodone with the time release coating removed for me to start to feel inebriated, and i dont even do drugs. i blew my knee out and was breathing nitrous and did 30mg of roxicodone for the pain and all that did was take away sharp pain. i have a naturally high resistance to opiates, barely feel 60mg of morphine. but one dame 1000mg Vicodin (10 mg of hydrocodone) makes ne feel drunk

oxycodone knocks you out?

I was on Percs but the FDA are trying to outlaw them and after June 30th you cant get a script for them anymore. Vicodin has absolutely zero effect on me. I can eat 10 of them and they do nothing. Yet Oxycodone which is similar to Vicodin knocks me out. Most cold medicines knock me out also,.. I'll sleep for hours after taking Nyquil. The first time I went in the hospital for my back they had me on Tylox and that made me too loopy as well as knocked me out.

If ya live long enough, you get a chance to get a lot of stupid shit under your belt. Being banged up after those wonderful experiences sucks but it definitely beats the alternitave.

Oh I have the milage!
11 years in the Navy, doing alot of stupid 9' tall and bullet proof kind of shit!
Rolled a EXP (yeah, I said it) 6 times at about a 100 in 1985. Spent 13 days in ICU after that one. Then 2 weeks convalesent (sp) leave and back on active duty. (Still thought I was 9' tall and bullet proof!)
Alot of dumb ass partying and stunts that go with it.
In 2002 I got T-boned in my buddies 88 LX. I had a 10 mm bleed on the brain, dislocated jaw, spinal cord inpingment (sp) on C6, instabillity and stennosis (narrowing on C4/5, C7/8.
Torn PCL left knee and ACL in right knee. Fugged up both elbows and my left foot.
Oh yeah, broke 4 ribs, collapsed left lung and a deep wall chest contusion!
I was on disability for 3 months after that, but still drove myself to therapy. (still thought I was bullit proof I guess.)
So I got my aches and pains.
Damn, I sound like my poor old, dear departed Nanny Russell!

There ya go. See, you're ahead of me on injuries. I've done all that crap and have come out relatively unscathed except for the knee and the associated problems. Otherwise, nothing big. Of course, there's a real good possibility that all that contributed to the arthritis that has been blossoming really fast over the last couple of years.

This thread is so awesome I have to say something.
I have a boo boo on my elbow. It keeps me up at night sometimes but I think I can sweat it out. lol
For serious though, you old timers did some crazy ass shit. I thought I was bad back in my teens.
I know Im destined to have bad knees though. Looking forward to that.

I've noticed that the crap we did years ago would be more likely to get you arrested now than back then!!

I'm coming up on 19, and from the sounds of this thread, I'm gonna be a mess when I'm older.
My knees give me issues quite a bit, especially if I've been sitting down for awhile.
Can't wait to see how I am 40+ years from now, if not dead.
