whats the deal with the 5.0 coupe frenzy?
ive talked to alot of guys from back in the day and alot of them told me they really didnt used to be that popular it was "gt" that was more desireable. but now it seems you cant buy a 5.0 coupe for less than 5k in any shape and that everyone wants one including me
. ive looked on a number of mustang forums and theres a big difference in the price range gt's average like 3k under what a coupe in the same shape or even the same mileage. just wanted to here someone elses opinion on this let me know what you think.

No one wanted them back in the day because they were a base model. Everyone wanted the LX hatch or the GT. Now, people want them because they are a little lighter than the other models. They are also less common which drives up the price a little bit. All in all, you can make a hatch or GT just about as light. Its all preference but people think they coupes are gold because there arent that many left.

I remember working in sales at Grant Ford in St Pete, now Autoway Ford in the 80's, you couldn't give a coupe away compared to a GT. Funny how things change.
