Much more fun than going to Jared.
Nice pics Jeff. Thanks for posting em! We would like to do this think once every 3 months...but we'll see.
Oh yeah, and a 125 shot now....C-6 and 4:11's. But the 4:11's are going to get yanked and replaced with 3:40's. I'm giving it to my daughter for her HS graduation gift. I WANT to change out the C-6 for an AOD also....To help with the streetability also. But $$$ is holding me up right now.
Oh, and Tommy, this gives you a look at my cage too.
I see

not knockin you work but I'm a certified welder and I'm glad my life dont depend on those welds. Tube welding isnt as easy as it sounds, if done right
I will build another one later in life. I want 68 Pro touring / cruiser set-up with a turbo ls1 6 speed

Well, Tommy, the tube is only so thick...A good weld should not be larger than the material it is welded to. (I was also a certified welder when I put this cage in. AWS cert as well as Washington Association of Building Officials {WABO} cert. which has higher standards than AWS) The welds should be the same size or slightly smaller. There is no need for a 1/4 inch weld on this thin of material. And trust me, these welds are burnt in deep. No undercut in them, No porosity, no boogering, good penitration, and no bulging at all. Please, tell me what you consider so bad about them? A good weld is the right size (not too large, and not too small) and not overly ground out. There was only root pass preperation done to these, no grinding any passes out, and I would put them under the X-ray any day to check for penetration.
Maybe its the sun...I'm talkin about the one where the door bar cup is attached to the main hoop, just below the foam. Bottom looks wrapped but as it comes up the side and across top looks like maybe there was a gap and it didnt fill in. What did you weld it in with?

I see where you're talking about. Yeah, it's the picture. The weld wraps and overlaps. I think I used a Miller at the shop I worked at. .035 wire feed with 75/25. But It's been about 10 years now....So I may be wrong. Most of the shops I worked at had Millers though. I don't like the Lincolns as much anyway.
