Rapper Bubba Sparxxx arrested in Clearwater

CLEARWATER -- Popular Southern rapper Bubba Sparxxx was arrested earlier this week on a felony narcotics charge.

Bubbasparxxx Sparxxx, whose real name is Warren Anderson Mathis, is best known for his 2006 hit single Ms. New Booty, which was a top 10 hit in the U.S. on the Billboard Hot 100. His other popular titles include Back in the Mud, Ugly and Deliverance.

Sparxxx, 32, lives in Clearwater.

He was raised in rural Georgia and “burst onto the scene in 2001 wearing overalls and driving a tractor in the video for Ugly,” his official Web site says.

According to Clearwater police, an off-duty officer witnessed another suspect pass Sparxxx the narcotic Tranxene at 2800 Gulf to Bay Blvd., the address of a Hooters restaurant, Sunday night. Sparxxx agreed to a search and the items were found in his wallet, authorities say.

He faces one charge of possession of a controlled substance. Sparxxx posted $2,000 bail Monday

<H2>Why is Tranxene prescribed?Tranxene belongs to a class of drugs known as benzodiazepines. It is used in the treatment of anxiety disorders and for short-term relief of the symptoms of anxiety.

It is also used to relieve the symptoms of acute alcohol withdrawal and to help in treating certain convulsive disorders such as epilepsy
Why not just drink a few beers!

benzos are commonly used for their sedative hypnotic properties or muscle relaxers if you will. valium is a very common benzo used to stop or reduce seizure activity in both adults and pediatrics. tranxene and valium are in the same class of benzos kinda and these work as a depressant to the cns. i could go on and on but you get the idea.

Damn... are we that up-tight of a society that we put felony charges on a guy who just wanted some down time? Seems to me like the drug is harmless.
